In similar truck crash cases across the country no one has been charged as unfairly as in this case. It is for good reason so many truckers are now pushing back against even driving through the state of Colorado.
We need Gov. Polis to do what is right in this case so that everyone, including the victims families, can have the justice the deserve.
As an attorney I have defended victims of truck crashes and fought lawsuits against truck insurance companies for very similar reasons. There are clear cases where negligence of the driver is a factor in a crash. While that may be true, and it is something I have seen, it is rare for someone to get any jail time, let alone 110 years in prison.

“This case is so egregious,” Garcia said. “It boggles the mind that here we are in 2021 and that somebody who was not intoxicated, not on drugs… It’s an accident, the brakes went out. But here’s the Latino driver, he gets charged, convicted and given 110 years of prison on his first offense.”
