The Department of State has released its Visa Bulletin for October of 2021. Big news if you are waiting for a priority date to be current so your greencard application can move forward.
What is the Visa Bulletin?
If you are unfamiliar with the Visa Bulletin, it is just something created by Congress in order to keep track of the annual quota on greencards that exists.
There are currently 336,000 green cards available each year. Of these 226,000 are for family-based greencards (like marriage) and 140,000 are for employment based green cards. This get’s a bit more complicated, however the Visa Bulletin shows which green card applications can move forward depending on when the original petition was filed.
