In Montgomery County, two 18-wheeler trucks crashed into each other on the Grand Parkway, near Birnham Woods. The crash caused one of the trucks to overturn, spilling its load of lumber onto the roadway. The other truck was also damaged in the collision. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the Houston truck accident.
t’s not clear what led up to the crash, but one 18-wheeler was left hanging off of the overpass. Another 18-wheeler is flipped over on its side under the overpass.
Authorities have not said if anyone was injured in the crash.
Several agencies are at the scene including the South Montgomery County Fire Department, Spring Fire Department, Montgomery County Hospital District and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash caused traffic to back up for miles on the Grand Parkway, as crews worked to clear the lumber and tow the damaged trucks. This is just the latest in a string of accidents that have happened on the Grand Parkway in recent months. In March, a woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the parkway, and in February, a man was killed in a hit-and-run accident.
The Grand Parkway is a busy highway, and with the increase in traffic, there have been more accidents. Drivers need to be extra careful when driving on the parkway, and always be on the lookout for other vehicles.
