Galveston School Bus Crash

We are praying for a speedy recovery for all of the students involved in this crash.

According to police, 27 students on their way to a high school football game were injured in a chain-reaction crash on the Gulf Freeway. The students, who were all ages 16 and 17, were in Galveston ISD school buses heading to the game when the crash happened around 4 p.m. Saturday.

La Marque Fire Department EMS crews were reportedly called to the scene to check out the students on the three buses.

Officials said most of those who said they were injured complained of neck and back injuries.

The students were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. No other details about the crash have been released.

You Might Feel Neck and Back Injuries Days After an Accident

It can take time for the symptoms to develop. For example, you may not feel neck pain until a day or two after the accident. This is because it can take time for the inflammation to develop. You might feel neck and back injuries days after an accident. Here are some symptoms to look for:

  • Neck pain or stiffness
  • Shoulder pain or stiffness
  • Headaches
  • Lower back pain
  • Numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
  • Difficulty moving the arms or legs

If you were in a car accident, you may want to get checked out by a doctor even if you don’t feel pain right away. This is because car accidents can often cause whiplash, which is a neck injury. Whiplash can be serious and may require treatment.
