Driver Was Seen Weaving In and Out of Traffic

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a fatal crash in the 300 block of W Gulf Bank Road. Through the investigation it was determined that a maroon Cadillac CTS was traveling eastbound in the 300 block of W Gulf Bank Road. The Cadillac was being operated by an adult female driver identified as Angie Valdez.
Traveling westbound in the 300 block was a gold Lincoln Town car. The Lincoln was being operated by an adult male driver, identified as Damian Jerome Potts, with an adult female passenger, identified as Crystal Jackson. Valdez while traveling eastbound was speeding and failed to maintain a single lane. The Cadillac rotated counter clock wise as it entered the westbound lane. The front of the Lincoln struck the right side of the Cadillac.
During the crash Valdez sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Potts and Jackson both sustained life threatening injuries and were also transported to local hospitals. Jackson upon arrival to the hospital, succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the crash and pronounce deceased. Potts also succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the crash, and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
This case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
