houston railroad worker dies

It is with a heavy heart that we report on a tragic accident that took the life of a railroad worker in Texas. On Tuesday morning, a Union Pacific train carrying crude oil derailed and exploded, killing one worker and injuring another.

Upon arrival, one man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Another worker who was there during the incident was not injured, according to HCFMO.

Union Pacific provided a statement on the incident to Eyewitness News saying:

“We are deeply saddened to confirm a Union Pacific employee was fatally injured in an incident that occurred today in Spring, Texas around 9 a.m. CDT. The incident is currently under investigation. Our thoughts are with the employee’s family and coworkers.”

This is a devastating blow to the family of the worker who lost his life, as well as the entire railroad community. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are grieving and we hope for a full recovery for the injured worker.

This tragedy is a reminder of the dangers that our railroad workers face every day. They are risking their lives to move our country’s freight and we must do everything we can to keep them safe. We must also remember the families of these workers who are left behind when tragedy strikes. They are the ones who suffer the most and they need our support.
